Pass the New York notary exam. Or it’s free.

The state hands you the study material and writes it like a statute. We walk you through every rule in plain English, prove you know it at each step, and light up green when you’re ready. No law degree. No cramming a booklet you don’t understand.

The whole “Acts” unit is open. No email, no card. Walk three rules and take the checkpoint.

Taught by a commissioned NY notary since 2020.

The booklet puts people to sleep. The exam does not.

Everything on the exam comes from one free state publication. That’s the good news. The bad news: it’s 22 pages of statute, and it can’t tell you which lines become questions, which two terms get paired as traps, or that test takers report a test heavy on straight definitions.

People walk out saying the same three things: the definitions were relentless, the fee and penalty questions were exact, and their study guide never mentioned the journal rules New York added in 2023. That last one is where outdated prep quietly fails people.

The fix isn’t more pages. It’s a better way to walk the ones that matter.

The Walker Method

Every rule, walked in four steps.

This is how a working notary actually learned it. One rule, four plain moves, then you prove it. Anxiety doesn’t survive the process.

  1. The words

The actual law, quoted short. You see the real thing, so it can’t ambush you on exam day.

  2. Actually means

One plain-English sentence. No legalese survives this step.

  3. Live example

A scene you can picture. A bank desk, a deed, a phone call that’s secretly illegal.

  4. Killer question

Exactly how the exam asks it, trap phrasing and all, so the real thing feels like a rerun.

Then the platform does the rest. Every unit ends in a checkpoint, so you never move on unsure. Every wrong answer walks you back to the one rule you missed. Quizzes remix from what tripped you up until it stops tripping you. And a single meter, the green light, tells you when you’re actually ready to book the walk-in.

Built by someone who does this for a living

I’m Davain Walker, a commissioned New York notary and working loan signing agent since 2020. I took this exam, then spent years using what it tests. This is the version of the booklet I wish someone had handed me: plain words, real examples, and questions that respect you enough to be as hard as the real thing.

Fair questions

Is the New York notary exam hard?

It is a memorization test on a booklet the state gives you for free. People fail because the booklet reads like a statute and they study the wrong things. Walk what actually gets asked, in plain English, and most people are ready in one to two weeks of short sessions.

How is this different from the free state booklet?

The booklet is the law itself; we walk you through it. Every rule becomes four plain steps, every unit ends in a checkpoint, and every wrong answer sends you back to the one rule you missed. Plus 212 practice questions, three full mock exams, and drills the booklet does not have.

Is the material up to date?

Yes, and this matters more than anything in this niche. Every fact is verified against the March 2026 edition of the state License Law publication, including the 2023 journal and electronic notarization rules that older study guides still get wrong. Test takers regularly report exam questions on exactly that material.

How does the guarantee work?

Finish the course, clear every checkpoint and score at least 80% on all three mock exams, then take the state exam within 90 days. If you don’t pass, send us your exam result and we’ll refund every penny. No hoops beyond that.

How long do I have access?

Until you pass. No 30-day windows, no paid extensions, no expiry. Exam results alone can take weeks to arrive by mail; a study platform with a countdown clock never made sense to us.

Can I try it before I buy?

Yes. The whole "Acts" unit is open free, in the real platform, no email required. Walk three real rules and take the checkpoint. If it clicks, unlock the rest.
